Digital Age Learning EnvironmentsTechnology coaches create and support effective digital age learning environments to maximize the learning of all students.
Indicators that I have met in the coaching process as identified in the projects below:

This is a report that I gave about a Distance Activity that I did in my class in the Spring of 2016. This opportunity allowed for my students in Video Productions to meet with experienced filmmakers in Los Angeles through the use of Skype. It was a wonderful experience that allowed my students to talk to people working in some of their dream jobs. The students had a lot of questions for the professionals and really enjoyed the activity.
After the completion of the assignment I shared my experience with other teachers on my campus in order to promote and inspire this type activity. It is now a common activity among the staff to use Skype and Google Hangouts as a means for bringing professionals into the classroom. In one particular English class I helped a teacher set up a conversation with a reporter from a newspaper in Washington. The reporter was able to talk with the students in a real time conversation fielding questions and offering insight into the profession of being a full time reporter.
Our school district has very strict rules around field trips and getting the students out into the work environment is very tricky. By using these type of interactive discussions through a platform like Skype or Google Hangouts, the students are able to expand their knowledge beyond the textbook and in class materials.

Pokemon Math Game
In the Fall of 2016 I programmed a game that teaches 4th grade students how to multiply simple numbers. The game is based on Pokemon characters and can be played on three different levels of difficulty. I programmed the game in Html5, Java, and CSS. I learned all of the coding in order to build the game based on a group storyboard for the game in just over 2 months.
As part of the development of the game, it was tested in 4th grade classrooms in Southern and Northern California. Teachers that I have worked with in my Masters program at Cal State University at Fullerton brought the game to their classrooms and had their students test the game as a beta user. I also approached my son's 4th grade teacher to use the game in her classroom as well.
After having success with the game in the elementary environment, I was able to present the program to High School teachers at my site during staff development time. In addition, I was able to demonstrate grade appropriate software that can be found online for High School teachers. The teachers were inspired by the presentation and have started using other game based learning software (Kahoot, Quizziz) because of the possible student engagement level when using this type of activity in the classroom. I am proud that it helped move teachers outside of their comfort zone to integrate this technology into the classroom.
